A reflection on the past...my overall thoughts is that Debbie didn't think of herself as an entrepreneur, she simply started her own business with her personal competitive advantages of skill and social capital that happened to be successful. She did take risk to quit her job and start her own business with only one client before eventually attaining more. I'm glad I talked with her, but now have more questions on how she decided to take that risk and how she made her daycare profitable.
Second interview with Debbie Shaw, home daycare provider:
I was much more confident talking about entrepreneurship in this interview! And I felt like I had useful questions that were directed at starting an entrepreneurial venture. I think they felt like I am more ready to start my own business if I chose to because I have more knowledge of what it takes to start a business and to continue helping it grow.
It seems like you gained a lot of useful information from your interview. Unfortunately it was a little difficult to hear the actual interview. The questions you asked were very insightful and you seemed really confident in the way you spoke! Great job on this assignment. Good luck with the end of your semester! Good interview! The audio was somewhat subpar, however overall everything seemed to go well. The questions had a good variety and they really show that you have what it takes in regards to starting a business.
I just want to say that the person you interviewed seems like an incredible person to having taken all these risks that I probably wouldn't have taken unless i was very sure on the next step I would be taking. Like most of us in this class, I came into this course with little to no experience with interviewing people now I'm totally confident that i just casually go up to people for our assignments. check my post.http://jalekatircioglu.blogspot.com/2016/04/very-short-interview-part-2.html
